Spicesin the Maldives

This category is the single-spice half of the Shan range — ground spices, whole seeds and salt, as distinct from the prepared recipe and biryani mixes. All 18 lines are Shan, imported from Pakistan directly by Sosun Fihaara. The ground spices cover the working base of a South Asian kitchen: turmeric, red chilli, coriander, cumin, black pepper, ginger, garlic and curry powder, with Zafrani garam masala as the finishing blend. Whole spices run to mustard seed, black cumin seed, fenugreek seed, fenugreek leaves and bay leaves, plus red chilli crushed. Himalayan pink salt is carried in three grinds — granular, regular grain and a stand-up pouch. Pack sizes span retail and catering. Smaller units run 25g, 50g, 100g, 150g and 200g; bulk units run 340g, 400g, 800g and 1kg. Case configurations follow the pack — 12, 18, 24 and 48 units to a case depending on the line. Stock is held in temperature-controlled and dry warehousing in Malé and moves out on scheduled sea freight and speedboat runs from Malé harbour direct to resort supply docks across North and South Malé, Ari and Baa Atolls.
